Therapy for the relationships that shape us.

Attachment-informed therapy for adults navigating relationship challenges, heartbreak, dating, emotional patterns, and disconnection from themselves and others.

Virtual psychotherapy across Ontario.

Somewhere Between who you are, who you’ve been, and who everyone needs you to be, there’s you.

How much of yourself have you learned to set aside just to keep everything else together?

Maybe something happened, and you haven't quite found your footing since.

Maybe you're in a season of change, trying to find your place in a life that looks different than the one you imagined.

Maybe you're tired of having the same conversations, finding yourself in the same patterns, or wondering why certain things seem to affect you more than you'd like.

Maybe you're navigating a relationship, the end of one, the beginning of something new, or the beautiful and oftentimes challenging space in between.

Maybe you're doing everything you're supposed to be doing, but somewhere along the way, you've lost touch with what you actually want.

Maybe you're carrying things you've never really had the space to talk about. Or maybe you simply want to understand yourself a little better.

Maybe it’s time to make a little room for yourself.

First we ground, then we grow

We all develop ways of navigating the world, understanding ourselves, and connecting with others. Over time, our experiences shape how we relate, respond to emotions, and move through life's challenges.

GROUND

Understanding what has shaped you.

This may involve:

The relationships and experiences that have shaped you.

Your emotional responses and the meaning beneath them.

Patterns in how you connect with yourself and others.

Your needs, boundaries, values, and sense of self.

The ways you’ve learned to protect yourself and navigate difficult experiences.

GROW

Making room for new ways of relating.

This may involve:

Developing a deeper understanding of yourself.

Recognizing and navigating familiar patterns.

Feeling more connected to your needs and emotions.

Exploring new ways of approaching relationships.

Making choices that feel more aligned with who you are and what matters to you.

Who I work With

Whether you're navigating a relationship, dating, heartbreak, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, therapy can provide space to slow down, reconnect, and explore what's underneath the patterns you're experiencing.

Therapy for the parts of life that happen between people and within you.

RELATIONSHIPS

Navigating recurring conflict, difficulty communicating your needs, emotional distance, trust, boundaries, or feeling misunderstood in your relationships.

DATING & ATTACHMENT

Understanding patterns in dating, fear of rejection, difficulty with uncertainty, attachment wounds, emotional availability, and navigating closeness.

HEARTBREAK & BREAKUPS

Making sense of a relationship ending, grieving someone, grieving who you were, rebuilding your sense of self, and understanding patterns that emerged within the relationship.

PERSONAL GROWTH

Exploring self-worth, people-pleasing, self-abandonment, difficulty trusting your own decisions, and feeling disconnected from your needs.

Philosophy

What if the pattern you're frustrated with once protected you?

I believe our experiences and relationships shape how we come to understand ourselves and navigate the world. Sometimes, the ways we've learned to cope, protect ourselves, and connect with others continue to influence us long after those experiences have passed.

My approach to psychotherapy is relational, attachment-informed, emotion-focused, and integrative. I draw from therapeutic perspectives including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), while incorporating skills and strategies informed by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness-based approaches where appropriate. Our work is guided by your individual experiences, needs, and goals.

Therapy isn't about having all the answers or changing everything at once. It can involve reflection, difficult conversations, moments of uncertainty, and sometimes recognizing things about ourselves that are not easy to sit with. It also makes room for new perspectives, meaningful conversations, and the occasional laughter.

Together, we'll work to better understand what's bringing you to therapy, explore patterns and experiences that may be influencing your life, and consider what you would like to approach differently. The process is collaborative, and the direction of our work will continue to be shaped by what matters to you.

About Madison

I'm Madison Renkiewicz, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and the founder of Ground & Grow Therapy Co.

I hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto, along with a Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham College and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology from Ontario Tech University.

I bring over six years of experience working across mental health and addictions settings, supporting individuals through complex experiences, periods of transition, and challenges that can affect their sense of self and relationships with others. My background has shaped the way I approach psychotherapy, with an appreciation for each person's unique experiences, circumstances, and the many layers that make up who we are.

You are welcome here, exactly as you are.

Beyond the Therapy Room

When I'm not working, you'll likely find me enjoying a good coffee, spending time outside, on my way to yoga, exploring the city, or finding somewhere to slow down and recharge. I love meaningful conversations, a little spontaneity, and time spent with family and friends.

I'm also someone who appreciates the balance between depth and lightness, making room for the meaningful moments, but never taking life too seriously all the time.

How I work

Understanding before change

There is room for the difficult conversations, the uncertainty, the moments of reflection, and the things that feel a little easier to laugh about. I value creating a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable enough to explore experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

I don't see therapy as a process of being told who to become or what decisions to make. Rather, it's an opportunity to better understand yourself, explore what matters to you, and consider what moving forward might look like.

We'll take the time to build that relationship and find a pace that feels right for you. As our work develops, we'll explore what feels important, revisit what emerges, and work collaboratively toward the goals that matter to you.

I don't believe therapy is about rushing you toward an outcome. It's about understanding where you've been, honouring what helped you get here, and creating room for where you're going.

A place to begin

A place to begin

You don't have to perform here

I've always been interested in the ways our experiences shape who we become and how we relate to the people around us.

The relationships we have, particularly those formed early in life, can influence how we experience closeness, navigate conflict, communicate our needs, and understand ourselves. Sometimes, the patterns we find ourselves repeating in adulthood make more sense when we begin to understand where they came from.

This perspective informs my relational and attachment-informed approach to psychotherapy. I'm interested in looking beyond what's happening on the surface to better understand the experiences, emotions, and relational patterns that may be influencing your life today.

I believe that greater understanding can create room for new perspectives, more intentional choices, and different ways of relating to ourselves and others.
